I love Bryant Woods Elementary. The teachers are great and very concerned for their students. The administration is also excellent. All students are treated with dignity and respect and those with problems receive attention to help them. The school is very diverse. When my grandson was in kindergarten, he came home one day and said, When I grow up I want to be black. I smiled. All his best friends are indeed black, and that is fine with me. Seems like that is a good way for a white kid to grow up these days, with lots of mixed-race experiences. There are advanced GT classes as well as help for those who learn more slowly. I just love it!

Where do I begin? The cirriculum is not on grade level. We currently moved and my children had to switch schools, I see such a decline in my children... Not only in their education but also in their motivation and attitude. My daughters teacher is very nice, I wish I could say the same for my sons teacher. My son gets made fun of, the school has very poor communication skills. I just feel like this move was a horrible mistake and I feel like a horrible parent even sending my child to this school everyday.

Teachers in 19 States Allowed to Physically Punish Students
As of 2014, nineteen states still allow corporal punishment – spanking and paddling the most common choices – in their public schools. However, some argue that not only are these punishments physically harmful, they also are disproportionately administered to students of color. As a result, House democrats have taken up the issue in a new bill that would ban all forms of corporal punishment nationwide.
