School Notes

  • School Mascot: Wild Boars
  • Brevig Mission Junior High and High School students had the opportunity to take first aid classes this past week. For three days, Tom Vaden an EMT from Nome, taught the students basic first aid techniques. Students learned the skills they will need should they be at the scene of a medical emergency. Students learned through Tom s instructions, through watching videos and by applying their knowledge on adult and infant manikins. They learned CPR and what to do if someone is choking. Tom also took the time to discuss ways to avoid potential emergency situations by being prepared when out hunting or traveling in the country.
