School Reviews

I am a former staff member who serviced the special ed population at the school for many years. The lower school and high school have good principals and staff that are enthusiastic. They have made working at those schools a career choice. The middle school under the leadership of Edwin Santiago and Eloise Cummings have a large turnover rate of staff year after year. A good portion of the instructional staff are not NYS certified. During my employment, they hired special ed. teachers from temp agencies with no ambition to go to school to become teachers. That impacted the quality of teaching going on for that population. Special Ed. teachers were used as permanent substitutes, while their mandated IEP students were not being serviced. If you are a parent who wants a good after school program, I would recommend the school for the activities offered.
